We can all agree; a clean space equals a clean mind. You will enjoy your landscape significantly more if you can come home to a kept and tidy backyard. No more last-minute clean ups before company comes over or clutter laying all around your yard. Just fun and sunshine! These are our tips to help you keep your outdoor living space organized!
Be a Gatherer!
One of the first thing you should do is gather everything that doesn’t already have a home together. Anything that is laying around, pool toys, towels, maintenance tools, BBQ accessories, etc. Look at your pile, and from here continue down the list to figure out where these will go.
Annual Yard Sale!
Clutter is inevitable. Throughout your summer you are bound to buy new toys, tools and décor. This is a big one! We think every year you should purge unwanted items. If you haven’t used something in months, get rid of it. Only keep items that provide you with a service or decorate your landscape. No older broken pool toys, if you buy new towels, get rid of the old ones. Things you have outgrown, basically anything that doesn’t serve a purpose in your landscape. Being on top of this yearly clean out will prevent excess clutter!
Storage!
Now, not every backyard has the space for a shed or cabana. If you do, consider putting one in and customizing it with shelves and storage units so you can keep all your items separated and out of site. There are such amazing options for those who don’t have the room though. Some include hooks for towels, planters with hidden storage space in the bottom, large shelving units, unique pool toy storage, baskets for sorting and more! Having a place for everything is crucial in keeping a low maintenance, tidy yard.

Hose!
Can go with Storage, however, we feel it should have its own category for the main reason that everyone has one and they are awkward, bulky and a massive eye sore. Also, very necessary. Consider the option below to keep it handy but also neatly put away.

Yard Maintenance!
Keeping on top of yard maintenance can be a great way to feel more organized. This doesn’t have to happen every day! Even once every week or two, walk your landscape and pick out a few weeds, unwanted twigs, keep on top of your lawn care and flowers. Trust us, it will help you feel relaxed when enjoying your wonderful landscape.
Decorate!
While this may not be a tip for organization, we strongly believe once you make your outdoor living space your own, you will enjoy it more! Decorate it to represent you and your family. Make it cozy and beautiful! Check out our post “Our favourite patio décor” for some ideas!
